I have chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, etc. but never pheasants....I really want some ornamental. But is this reasonable? I'm thinking of an aviary about 8 x 20 feet, 1/2 inch hardware cloth with a roof. It would go on the bare ground so that I can plant shrubs etc. I would use a stem wall or hardware cloth for security and it's would be inside a fenced area that has been fairly secure. We have Great pyr dogs on our 20 acres. I'd like to get 3-4 male pheasants and also some smaller birds like quail, chuckars, a pigeon or two maybe. This aviary would go on the soil where I have had my chickens free ranging. I've thought out some of the other details but is this a reasonable possibility? Is there a better possibility? Any suggestions? I'm attaching my little farm. The aviary would go in the back near the 8 foot privacy fence.

I'm not sure mixing these birds together in same aviary would be a good idea. :idunno
I'll Tag @007Sean , He is knowledgeable on pheasants.
Lets hear his opinions.

Beautiful gardens you have. What is your location, since it's not in your profile.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

Quail and pheasants do pretty well together, I would not put chuckers in with any other gamebirds, they can be very aggressive towards other species, including themselves. An all male pen can be done if no hens are around, even close to the all male pen, will result in a 'blood bath' between the males.
