Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone can tell me when my Red Goldens will begin to lay? I have had Silvers and Melanistics for a few years and my Silvers always start early in the year and this year they started a month ago and my Melanistics started on April 1st. The Red Goldens and Lady Amherst are new to me this year. I have had a trio of Red Goldens for about 4 weeks and a quad of Red Goldens for about 3 weeks and a Pair of Lady Amherst for 3 weeks as well but none have laid yet. Can anyone say when I should expect them to lay? Thank you for your time and response.

You just got your birds, it will take some time for them to get use to their new location, enclosure, surroundings. They may lay this year or may not , just depends on alot of factors that no one can know, except the birds. In general, they start their courtship in late Jan-Feb. That has been disrupted, so just depends on the birds.

Thank you for your response. I thought the change in location might effect them. Under normal circumstances when would they start? March? April? May? I'm not sure when to expect laying to start. Thanks again

It depends on what part of the country your in, again in general, they will start laying late March to mid April and continue till sometime in July.
