pheasant running in incubator

I have read that you should leave newly hatched chicks in the incubator, but this morning a hatched pheasant chick was running around and sent the other eggs rolling everywhere. Any solutions? There was one other egg that was pipped at the time and I did not know if I should turn it back the way it was, no movement out of it for many hours so I chipped the shell away and found that the memebrane was away from the shell and looks as though it suffocated. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

from S. Florida! When I hatched out some Coturnix Quail, they did the same thing, running around like mad! I've heard on this forum, that sometimes the membrane will stick on the chick. Was your humidity high enough? Sounds like maybe it was to low for the chick to be able to get out.

It is a good idea to leave the little chick in there, to preserve the humidity level. He may run around and roll some eggs over, but this usually is not detrimental to them. Make sure your humidity is in the 65%(ish) range and do not open the incubator! I will send good hatching vibes for the rest of your eggs

Thank you for the responses. I was guilty of opening the incubator and pulling the chick. I now know to leave them in there. Thanks again for valuable information. I did not know how fast little pheasant chics can run. Great fun!
