Pheasant with ducks? Or chickens?

Hey, the past few days there as been a female pheasant chilling on our allotment, and we can get as close as half a meter and she simply doesn’t mind, we’ve been leaving corn and water for her. She seems to try to get to the chickens. And then stops when they come out, as if she wants their company?!!?

Tomorrow we are going to buy some pheasant feed for her, but she is most definitely tame. So the plan is (if she sticks around) to move her into one of the 2 pens. But which will she get along with better? A LARGER pen, with 8 ducks and a drake, or a slightly SMALLER pen, with 7 hens and a rooster, she was eating out a bowl with the rooster and one hen with no problems, but she seemed quite happy when she slipped past us and got into the duck pen

I’d say give it a try. Let us know how it goes because I was actually thinking and researching different fowl that will work with chickens

Thx for the reply, we’ll probs try her with the chickens, since she seem keen to get in there! Do u think she might be looking for company? She seems to like hiding with the pumpkins

My gut instinct is that she will do best with the chickens.

She shouldn't be with either of them.Chickens carry diseases that they can handle,but will kill a pheasant.Ducks pens are so wet that are sure to wet and catch something from them.Pheasants need to be by them selves not even close to chickens.Their only defense is flight,so if you clip the wings and something comes after them,they are gonners.

We don’t have enough room. We only have two pens. One for ducks and one for chickens. She’s not ours nor do we know where she came from. We are happy to keep her, but it’d made our life easier if we could keep her with our other animals as we have dogs that run down there. We’re already attached and don’t want to get rid of her but if it’s what’s best then we will.
