Pheasants

They're not really hybrids per say. They are just mixed varieties/colors. Like Red Gold crossed to Yellow Gold or Dark Throated crossed to Cinnamon Gold etc... They are all Golden Pheasants just different varieties/colors. Same as in chickens if you crossed Gold Laced Wyandottes to White Wyandottes. They are still Wyandottes just mixed colors.

Hybrid pheasant are not typically sterile. Since they are all the same species "pheasants" and are very closely related. Such as Red Golden crossed to Lady Amherst or Ring neck crossed to Elliot's for instance. Same as in chickens if you were to cross a Wyandotte with a Brahma the offspring would be hybrids/crossbreds and would not be sterile.

Now if you were to hybridize a pheasant with a chicken for instance the offspring would be sterile.

They can be sexed by looking at their face. The cock birds will have wattles, the characteristic 'tear drop' the hens will not have any wattles.

I should have tagged you to start with. I've not really messed with pheasants to much. Just from time to time over the years. I explained best I could with the knowledge and experience I have. Please correct anything I posted and add anything I should have. Thanks @007Sean
