I am thinking about getting fertile Phoenix eggs (only 1-2) to be a part of a batch one of my broodies will hatch in Spring. I love both the male and female Phoenixes, but I already have two roosters so I will only have females. For me, they would be mainly used for showing and as a pet. I have 9 chickens living in a 20' x 30' run, if any of that matters, and that's where they will live.
But what I'm wondering is temperament, broodiness, and if they're hardy enough for Wisconsin. Like I said, they are pets for showing and the eggs would really just be a bonus, so laying isn't a top priority.
