Photo of my backyard......How did the addiction come to this....

I really need to take my camera out with me in the mornings when I go to feed, that's about the only time mine do this, but it looks very similar!!

I see some that look like rouens, but the white with black spotted ones have me stumped

Yep, probably is. That's what I thought when I saw the list. I have pekins, rouens, and cayugas, so other types are just alien to me

That's what my yard looks like too, only with chickens and turkeys! They are so cute and fat, the little duckettes.

I just finished reading a book you might enjoy (a lot) called "Enslaved by Ducks" by Bob Tarte. Chronicle of a couple's poultry addiction.

I was going through some old photos last week and came across what my yard used to look like. Seriously, it was quite pretty.
Now, with 8 chickens and 8 ducks running around I describe it as "a parklike setting" with scattered ponds. i.e. duck and chicken poo all over the so-called grass and several plastic pools.

Oh, and my dahlias? Well, I made a fence around them, wanted to win a few ribbons at the fair this fall. Did you know that chickens love a bit of dahlia salad? That fence wasn't enough to keep them out.
