Here are the girls (and boys)- they came up to the gates because they see me coming!

White Orpingtons on the left, Silkies on the right

I love looking at other folks' flocks and yours is no exception. What a lovely bunch of white Orps! Silkies are starting to grow on me, but I won't hatch silkie eggs or buy any. My friend is threatening to gift me with a few, because I do think hers are cute. Ya gotta see 'em doing the chicken thing LIVE to appreciate 'em, I guess. Or at least I do.

I so miss the Pacific NorthWest. I think the Sierra Foothills is my chance to live somewhere a bit closer to those memories; Ponderosa pines, cedars, apple tree, lots of nearby forested area, and some similar ground-cover. I don't think I can grow rhodies there, but I might try!
