You don't need photoshop.

Copy the photo, paste in your site, go to the background layer, do the gradient tool with most colors in it(be sure to change colors to requested).Then you go to the layer with the subject, erase the background or do lasso, smudge edges of subject with a small px smudge to blend it. Then you go to the background layer, take the smudge, make it big, and then smudge in swirls.

What Symphony means is that you have to trace everything EXCEPT the chick like just the background. then you have a cutout of that chick.

You right mouse click the screen and click Invert Selection.

Well, I can move the cut out shape all around, change the background color, but when I remove it completly to another page I can not jpeg it nor can I put it back together and reform the picture. I saved my original photo of a rooster and now it is gone and I can not put the saved as ones back together. lets move on and I will continue to work on this one.I have to go to new adjustment layer to find invert. Photoshop pro 8
