Phyllis/Fergus is between 8 and 9 wks. I am kinda leaning toward "it" being a roo, but REALLY hoping for a hen

.. Anyone willing to help me guess?
Some specifics - No wattles or redness on the face to speak of
Crest is kinda pointy, kinda poofy.

My best guess on breed is Buff Polish

You have given me hope mommak6, I hope you are right!

One of my big concerns though is the size of it's legs. They are pretty big.

All of my pullet's legs are gargantuan compared to what I feel they should be.....I'm definitely no expert and very new at this chicken-gig, but I feel like there should be something of a comb or waddles if it were a rooster by now. :)

Good to know that your pullets had thick legs too because that was really selling me on the Roo. The lack of wattles and red on the face says hen to me too. I guess that is why they say Polish are so hard to determine gender on....they are kind of a mixed up mess until they either lay an egg or crow....which brings up another point....any idea how old they are when they typically start to try crowing?
