I have a bunch of other chickens, they were just in the barn at the time of the photo shoot. We're sectioning this coop into three parts, two of which will go to Phoenix pairs and the rest to go for the other chickens (5 EEs, 2 Cochins, 2 Barnevelders, 2 Welsummers, 3 Buttercups, 1 Polish roo, 1 Golden Campine roo). The whole thing is 14' long and I forget how tall. Very tall. That ceiling is about 10' tall. The Phoenix pens are actually going to be up off the floor when we're done sectioning, so the other chickens will still have the floor space.

We don't have many pics of the coop while under construction. I asked DH to draw up some nice plans, as he was an ex-architecture major and does beautiful technical drawings. He said no way, it's a work of art and he doesn't want it copied. Actually, what he said was, "Are you nuts? I spend the whole day at work drawing stuff, I'm not drawing when I get home!"

My barnies and wellies are sooooo jealous! Are yours from the spring Ideal order we did with Doug? Laying yet? Mine aren't.
That is some awesome hen resort hotel!

Yep, from that order. They lay little bitty pullet eggs off and on, which are only a shade darker than my Cochin eggs but have lots of dark brown spots on them. Once they get into the habit, should be interesting.

Thank you!
