Here are pics of the top run (before a few additions to it, but this is the basic structure)...

We had chicken wire as a top to the run - now we have it covered with metal. The lower coop runs are just wire, no solid roof on them.

had to add in a "chicken corral" so the donkeys wouldn't go into the open coop door and eat the chicken feed

The lower coop is three cells - two with runs (one houses the free rangers) and the top part of the runs is a waterfowl pen - it goes at the top and bottom of the hill. I'll get some pics of the finished product tomorrow for ya.

My top coop is now the brooder coop - all I have in there is babies up to 2 or 3 months old.

I have made additions inside it, too - it has shelves and seperate cages and a little baby brooder cage built in (for picked on babies).

The top coop won one of the BYC coop contests. The bottom one I submitted, but it didn't win - but then I've added a lot to it, maybe I'll take new pics and submit it again to the next contest.

When I submitted the bottom coop, it was just the coop - no run, no chicken corral, nothing else fancy to it.

I love the new bottom runs - they are bigger than the top run, and in the lower part of the pasture, so they get shade for half the day. The trees have filled in nicely around them, and it is green and cool down there all afternoon.

I just noticed

this pic has a picture of Jr. as a baby.

she is over on the left hand side by the wire.

This is Jr. today with her own babies. She was the first chick ever hatched on the farm.

Sadly, she is down to 3 chicks - three of them died (rain, mostly - we had tons of rain right after they hatched - and she dragged those chicks wherever she wanted to go - she's a first time mama. One must have been eaten by a snake, never found it's body.)
