Pic of coop, what would you do?

This is my coop. DH built it for me about 10 years ago, it's recently been repainted as you see it now.

We've added an additional run that wraps around the back.

What would you do with the "run" area to the left? It's a wooden floor, which just seems weird to me. I've got pine shavings on it and added branch roosts, but am looking for idea on how else to make it more natural and ways to utilize it

First I think that a lot of people would want you DH to build them a house that looks that nice. Recent painting has done wonders for it. As for the enclosed in area with the wood floor I think that in addition to what you have already done a few chickens in there for a couple of weeks and their poop will make it very natural.

Ha! Yes, they have naturalized it a bit over the last year

I think I'll make a corner into a dusting area... Get a 2x12 and attach it upright diagonally in a corner, lay down landscape fabric and dump some fine dirt in there for dusting in.
