Pic of new chick

Here are a couple pictures I snapped this morning...they aren't the best, I was shooting thru wire and working with a chick who just didn't want to stay still.
She is still setting on 4 eggs. Just wondering how long she will wait before she takes the baby and shows her/him where the food and water is. Its been 24 hrs??

I have searched this site...guess I'm not using the right wording.

Should I toss some food to baby? Or just leave well enough alone... momma just ain't moving. have an old bator..thinking of plugging it in to see if it actually works and removing the other eggs...just in case. I dont want to throw away a half developed chick...

any advice appreciated...

Hi there!! It is time to stick some food under momma's nose. The chick needs food on day 2 or 3. I make it available on day 2, but they eat alot more after day 4 or 5. Put some starter in there. And a waterer.... They both need water.

I have put both(starter and pellets) in there...looks like someone was in the starter food. Water and food have been available to mom...

She really needs to decided what to do, the nest box is foul. She turned her behind and one corner is full of poop. I tried to get in the box but she wasn't so happen, and pecks quite hard! Will wait until tonight, see if I can sneak in after dark.

I had the same trouble. I just grabbed her and threw her in the coop while I cleaned her space. She ran nuts around there. When I was done I took the chick outta my pocket and put the momma back - she was fine.​
