Pick a breed for me

Im getting a new rooster for my flock as my old one is not fertile. So BYC pick a new breed for me.

What's the role of the rooster? What breeds of hens? Is it important to have an attractive unique looking rooster?

Legbars are blue eggers...but kind of trendy, so can be expensive...there sex linked so you can get a rooster chick cheaper.

I agree an EE would make for interesting babies....who knows which genes he will carry.
