I've got the eggplant working on my "playhouse" coop right now. I liked the Pepto Pink I had with lavendar trim better.

Stain, definitely.

A painted surface shows dirt more than stained wood. And you have to repaint more frequently than you need to restain. When we screened in our breezeway, we were going to paint the wood until our contractor pointed out the advantages of stained wood. He was right.

I do too and with white trim it would be really pretty........or even go outside the box and
add a colored trim - just for fun and whimsy.....maybe a lemon yellow?

This picture is not very good but I was trying to match the eggplant color on the posts to the chicken house. I REALLY want to paint it colors, isn't anybody with me on this??????????????? Ok, no. I get that!

I LOVE the wood. Just use a clear weather sealant or something that will retain the wood. The coop is lovely, by the way.
