were they mites? fleas? they looked like fleas but the color threw me off.. i have never seen a mite. but there were tons crawling on me on the way to the rehab lady.

With a wild bird - I would think mites/lice if they were crawling over you.
Hate to say it but you might have to fumigate the car and your clothes then!!
You'll feel them for days

That would be mites.

Do you have any DE? Dust the bird really well, especially under wings and vent area then dust every where else it has been. If you don't have DE, grab some SEVIN dust. You don't want this infestation to pass along to your chickens.

Mites. It's pretty typical for sick and injured birds to get tons of them, because like fleas, they are highly attracted to sick animals especially.
