I'm wanting to get some turkeys but I'm having a hard time picking out a breed. I had thought I'd go for some Bourbon Reds but then I read a post stating that they were aggressive so maybe I'm back to square one. True or not I'd like some input as to what breed would best suit my needs...

The requirements are....

1. Must be able to breed.
2. They will be dinner but we do not want a huge fast growing bird.
3. Docile as possible.
4. Must be able to make it through a cold winter

Looking for any input you all might have... thanks!

I have bourbon reds, blue slates, royal palms and chocalates. So far my slate tom has tendency be
A little on the agressive side but only to other birds.

I like my bourbons. I my personal choice is royal palms. They are not as big body wise but all of them are like big puppies.

Your criteria hits just about any heritage breed.

I would just pick a breed yhat appeals to you and enjoy them.
