I am going to be picking up 8-12 rooster of various ages to send to rooster camp. I have been letting my 5 laying hens out of the tractor in the yard when I am home. They stay pretty close to the coop when I'm in the house but get pretty brave when me and the dog are outside. The 2 biggest predators I have to worry about are stray dogs and hawks.
I know it sounds mean but I would like to find a rooster that if there was an attack would end up being the "sacrifice". Out of all the roosters I'm picking up....how do I "test" them to see who would be a good candidate?
