Hey everyone, I have a couple of questions I need help with. I have chicks of various ages that are getting along well with each other and even get along with the turkeys, whom they assume are ungainly chickens. However, I have a recent issue that has cropped up with the goslings.
I have two goslings I got the same time as the chicks. The goslings as big as my 6 week old chicks and for a while they got along really well. Then the big guy(gal?) started goosing and pecking at the older chicks. Well, the older chicks got tired of this bully and they stomped on him (her?) a couple of times and now they've picked a bald spot on the back of this gosling.
The other chicks and the smaller gosling are worrying at that spot. There's no blood, but it is unsightly. This happened last night. The big gosling seems rather sedate about it, but the small gosling is picking on him too.
My questions are:
1 What do you recommend for the spot? I've heard people mention blue-kote, but I don't know where to get it or what it does.
2. Should I separate the goslings from the chickens now? They really enjoy spending time with the other birds and I'm afraid that will cause the smaller one to pick more on the bigger one.
3. Let them all sort it out? Nobody is getting injured other than the pulled fluff.
Thanks in advance.
