Picking up chickens

Hey, I’ll be picking up my first chickens tomorrow afternoon, will be a 2 hour drive home with them but im not sure how to transport chickens, will a cardboard box work, wrap body in a towel and hold on laps, I don’t have dog crates or anything like that

How old are the chicken's that you will be picking up? A cardboard box should work, but make sure that you cut some holes in the box for air and circulation. Close the top of the box so they don't fly out.
