Pickled Button Quail Eggs

nurse_turtle: I must ask - Do you just happen to get some really cool pics or are you a bit of a photographer? I wasn't at all kidding when I said "another AWESOME" pic! I'm still trying to imagine how you talked the chicks into staying in the box!!

I couldn't believe that picture and made hubby look at it! I can't get 3 buttons to sit still!

Well this thread gave me the motivation I needed to get my eggs cooked last night, and I ran off to bed and forgot to peel them.

So hopefully they peel ok.

I fancy myself a hobby photographer. Thanks so much for the comments about the photos. The box of buttons picture was made in the evening when it was dark outside. I had placed the box in there and added some pine shavings and organic potting soil. After a massive dirt bathing, they ALL piled in there and just looked at me as if to say, "Why didn't you do this days ago?"

And, yes, I have a house chicken. She free ranges the house during the day and has a large dog crate with a roost, water bottle, food, and straw bedding in the sunroom. Her name is Annie-Belle and she says, "Hi".

Also I have a picture of her trying on her first diaper. It was too big but when I picked her up by the elastic and rocked her back and forth, she fell asleep. And that's her as the avatar of greatness. So silly!

That's adorable. I laughed because the name for your chicken is the nicname my boyfriend calls me (my name is Annie). Or just Belle for short.

How did she end up in the house? Was she always indoors or did she find her way inside somehow? Is it a pain to deal with the diapers? I don't mean to hijack your thread, but seeing as though it's your thread... I hope you don't mind!

Oh I love it!
She looks sound asleep! LOL!

What a cutie! Sizzle or Frizzle?
Well,
I'm curious about the diapers and how they work. lol... We have a baby Serama we will be keeping as a house pet.

Back to the eggs.
I spent all morning peeling them! Kicking myself for not doing it last night. LOL!
Some peeled off all in one piece .

She was born with a sealed left eye. She eventually scratched it open but has poor vision. Her coop mates wouldn't let her eat so she nearly died. I brought her inside and gave her vitamin water by dropper and.... long story short, her coop mates would NOT accept her back. I tried twice. The diaper has worked great. I thought there would be a smell when she pooped in it but there wasn't. It took her about an hour to adjust to it and to stop walking backwards trying to get it off. I highly recommend diapers for the indoor chicken.

I like Deviled eggs ,but they do have negative effect on my stomach
