Picky Rooster

I have a year and a half old cornish cross rooster. He eats the oddest things. No chicken food for him.
He will only eat dog food, mixed with rabbit food and cracked corn.

He seems healthy and is very large.
Is that food bad for him?
He wont touch chicken food, he would rather go without eating then eating it.
I cant figure out why.

He has you well trained.

If you give him nothing but chicken feed, his hunger strike won't last long.

Are you offering something other than layer food for him? He may not want the extra calcium. The combination of dog food, rabbit food and corn probably works out to give him the nutrients he needs. He's just balancing it on his own.

I dont have hens, so I dont have layer food.
He is the last chicken I have left, I couldnt part with him.
Even when I fed chicken food, he would go over to the dog's bowl and take her food, then hge would go and peck the ground under the rabbit cages. He has never seemed to like any type of chicken food.

I do save money this way,but I want to make sure its ok for him to eat it.
