We are so excited to welcome our new Basenji puppy today. We are actually picking him up at the airport in a few hours. He came from Missouri to Houston. I will post pics once we have them.

He is brindle, very dark brindle with white legs and feet of course.
I will post pics as soon as I get home with him...so exciting..LOL

Ok so we are home with him. He had gotten real messy during his trip so the first thing we had to do with him was give him a bath. I have done tons of research on the breed and just know this is what I wanted so this little fellow of mine is my mothers day gift hi name is Otis.
Here is a pic of him taht made me fall in love with him. He is a few weeks younger her than he is today but I haven't taken any pics yet so this will do until I have a chance.

OY! I used to have one of those. Yep, we called her CAT-DOG!
I hope you have a fenced in yard, preferably one with a privacy fence that goes up to at least 8 feet. Those stinkers can run like the wind and training them is not an easy task. They must be allowed to run though. They can be destructive too so don't let it get bored! Mine chewed the edges off of my husband's brand new recliner and also chewed the sills from the inside of my windows (they get separation anxiety). It's best to keep them in a kennell when you're not home or asleep.

Good luck! It's an awesome breed, just very challenging.

I do have a 8' fence around our yard and yes I heard about the antics. I am actually heading out this very minute to get him one of those fancy castles (oops I mean cages-shh don't tell him).
He is gorgeus though and he already has melted our hearts..
