Just thought I'd post some pics of our new chicks and our older girls at the new house.
This is our new crested girl (hopefully), and our regular and buff brahma chicks.
They are really posing for this one
These are all of our new chicks snuggling up. There are the brahmas, plus a buff and a blue cochin, and a dominique.
This is my temporary run where I keep the crested and a white ameraucana until they are big enough to go in the main run. I built it out of an old generator cover. You can see them roosting on the right.
These are my pullets taking a bath. None are laying yet, but I'm pretty sure the black austalorp is close. And a close up of my buff orp.
These are my new plymouths. I'm really hoping the splash is a girl as it should be an olive egger. The tail is looking a bit rooish, so we'll see. the blue girl is our first layer, he she is checking out the coop and laying for us.
Finally, our white leghorn having a snack, and some of my girls hanging in the run. I made the feeder from some air ducting components. It works great and was pretty cheap. There is another feeder and waterer at the other end so the new girls always have access to one set when the others are being bullies. They seem to be settling down and accepting the plymouths pretty quickly.
This weekend I'm going to add some sod in the bottom of the run, and I'm going to connect it to two other runs and move the laying boxes so my coop can accommodate the new girls when they are older. I'll post pics when I am done, they should have a pretty spiffy home when I'm done. Plus they get to free range quite a lot. Anyways, hope you enjoy.
