Pics of IDEAL poultry chickens??????

Jeff9118,

He is our little or should I say large 6 weeks old homemade roo. He is Giant Blue Cochn (roo) and Buff Orp (hen) mix.
He will be a pretty one, The others in the pics though are from Ideal. I am actuallly trying to figure out what to do with him. I would like to keep him but not if fighting starts. His father Vida Blue is very friendly..maybe I need to find him a home somewhere. who knows, time will tell.

If hee needs a home, I am looking for a roo for my eatin' egg pen...there are buff orp (all very very young yet), barred rock, EE, gold-laced cochin, bbred cubalaya, buff brahma, dark brahma, and a partridge cochin (all LF). I think he would fit in nicely

All but a handful of my hundred-plus large fowl are from Ideal...I have a mixed review.

My Ameraucanas are actually EE as some are rumpless, some have beards, some have ear tufts, and not a single one is even close to breed standard.

I got some mille fleur d'uccle, blue and regular...they are not quite speckled, but they are still young so we will see

the cubalayas died off one by one for a few days, and the rest of the chick order was fine...I'm down to one cubalaya, but Ideal gave me my money back just for me asking about if they were a breed that was more fragile with shipping! I didn't even ask them to refund!

I am tickled pink about my barred rocks and speckled sussex, and my buff orps and cornish X meat birds. Fine examples of their breeds!

My bantam cochins are FABULOUSLY feathered, and I am actually considering showing two of them they are so perfect-looking! Not to mention thats where I got my ROOSTER who likes to BROOD CHICKS!
He doesn't set eggs, just cares for baby chicks. He is such a good surrogate daddy!

So, a couple bad breeds, but for the most part I am overly happy with Ideal! Even my ducks are gorgeous! I got the mismatch hodge podge called a hatchery choice...and I have GORGEOUS examples of eight different breeds...and eight are female, seven are male, and several indeterminate (younger batch).

I did the same with my bantams, just let the hatchery unload on me for feather-footed bantams..very nice, except the mille fleurs, unfortunately. GREAT conformation, just kinda blah coloring.

I have done plenty of buisness with them. I hope this helps you make your decision!
Sorry no pics...I am NOT pc savvy!

I got chicks from Ideal last year and I was very pleased. They are all healthy and very nice looking. I keep mine as pets, not as show birds, but I would order from them again.

Go to my website in my signature line.Click on my Photo Gallery. My Buff orps and White jerseys are from Ideal.

Both lay regularly throughout the week.

I checked out your site and would say they are good for hatchery stock. I liked the white giants the best. Would you consider them bigger than other standard breeds? I got some from another company once in white and black and I cant say I could see to much of a difference in them and the other standard breeds I got as far as size.
Thanks everyone and I hope that you will continue to post pics. We should do this for all the big poultry hatcheries.
