Pics of my 2010 Sebastopol Geese

Oh ya Dorothy!

Pics came through fine.
COOL buff!!!
Pretty amazing that you got a buff from 2 gray saddlebacks.
They're somewhat rare so lucky you!

Thanks!
Hmm, thats a strange one...your geese not liking pasture.

From all I've heard or experienced with my geese is that they love grazing on grass.
I never kept my waterfowl with my chickens.
They free ranged together during the day but housed separately at night.
Geese tend to bully chickens and ducks if kept in close quarters with them
plus geese need a lot of space.
Not sure about the goat thing.
My goats where long gone before I got geese.
Hope you can work it out.
Good luck!

Well the problem is that they LOVE the pasture too much - They eat just about everything before it can reseed or get eaten by something else.

And with the chickens, they're kept separate, but the chickens are allowed to wander into their area, just not them to the chickens'.

You could divide your pasture and rotate.
We had to do that with our horses.
That's really weird about them being mean to your chickens when free ranging.

Over aggressiveness in Sebastopols isn't typical.

Having a sale until Dec. 31st on my 2010 sale youngsters.
I need to make room for my new Sebbies coming from Holdrreads this fall
so if you need a good gander come check out what I have for sale.
I have 2 really nice curly whites out of my Holderread gander Tresor.
Both have long and profuse breast feathering so looks like Tresor
is passing that trait along plus they are both saddleback gene carriers!
Oh yah, I just bought a new Amish built goose shed too.
I need to stop doing this!

I'm so excited about my new purcahses because next year
I will be able to breed for blue and buff!
These colored Sebbies are so much fun!

This is my smooth breasted saddleback born in spring. Gender is unknown at this time. I'm guessing a male.

This is a back view of the buff.

This is my first try at inserting pictures -- I hope it works. I am new to BYC.

You can get buff females from a buff carrier . Your gander is a buff carrier. The only way to get buff boys is to have a buff female bred back to a buff or a buff carrier gander.

Thank you Noahsgeese.

My first Sebastopols came from Carla Mitchell in Michigan.
I think she got her Sebs from Metzers.
Currently I mainly have Holderread and Overton bloodlines
