Pics of my Ducks and Turkeys

Yeah I love the buffs. I may try to order cayugas and buffs in the spring.

I'm hoping I get eggs from mine that I can try to hatch. I've got two drakes and two ducks. One drake is pushed off by himself. I think that means I need more ducks. That's what I'm telling my husband anyway! So if I don't get eggs I'll be ordering some too.
We're saving for a generator so we can stoke our freezer with more local meat. I haven't been buying grocery store meat at all for months. I don't want to buy a 1/4 side of beef only to lose power like we do so frequently here. Don't think I'll ever raise my own, not here in this small space anyway. Although PC, Moodusnewchick and PP may talk me into processing yet....

Buster, yeah those Buffies are real sweet. I hope their disposition is as sweet as they look. In the pic, it looks like the birds are retreating in fear from you--typical fear issue with ducks, I suppose.........

Anyway, do you incubate duck eggs in your Genesis 1588? If so, how has it gone????????

My ducks aren't the friendliest but I haven't put a lot of time into trying to make them that way.

I haven't incubated any duck eggs in the Hovabator yet but I plan on it in the future.

Oh, maybe we'll be able to incubate our duck eggs around the same time! Oh wait, I need for my ducks to start LAYING

I have a duck laying now but it may be my mature cayuga/magpie cross. I'm not sure other than I've been finding duck eggs recently. One of them was HUGE the other day, so maybe it's from a new layer.

Oh Buster your Buff ducks are beautiful. I might have to get some of those next year.
