They live in a coop during the night, but we have a movable "fence" they like to be in during the day:

Peeper decided she didn't want her picture taken anymore! LOL!

They each lay one egg in the evening:

We tried them scrambled, but the kids were really grossed out. I thought they tasted like chicken eggs, only richer:

So now I'm not sure what to do with the eggs. They're not fertile (no roos). Maybe make a craft?

They look adorable!! And it also seems like they wouldn't mind company 2 quails is waaaaay to few to have, if I were you I'd add at least 10 more hahaha but that's just me i'm a quail addict hahaha.

Pickle your eggs. My wife and I shelled a bunch tonight and filled our jars. Every batch we make we change around like a big science experiment. Well they always seem to disappear. So give it a try.

Can they live with chickens? How big are they? How high can they fly?

It has been disscused here before, its too risky to have quails ( any kind) living alongside chickens because of illness and viruses the chicken carry but are inmune to but the quails arent, so its not a good idea it mostlilely kill your quails.
And about how high they'll fly, there pretty good flyers just like regular birds.

you also wouldn't have them for too long if you put them with free range chickens.

They would dart as soon as they could!

as for eating them...the eggs that is... I boil them as hard boiled, and the kids think it's a great little treat!
