This is the first time we've had roos!! So...I figured I'd share pics of our boys. We have several others, but these 3 are the ones we are keeping. We also have 28 hens. The roos are all 22 weeks old (5.5 months) as of today!

Andre (the broken toe) is our Jersey Giant Roo. He is such a sweetie and very shy. At last weigh-in he was a little over 10 lbs and that was several weeks ago. He is still skinny and far from filled out. He's gonna be a big boy! While he is mates the hens, he has yet to crow. He bawks and grumbles. We'll see how long that lasts!

The second pic shows his size. The BR hen is probably only a foot away from Andre and she is a 7.5 lb, full-grown hen!

Rotis, short for Rotisserie, is a Delaware and a pain in the behind! He has been threated the Rotisserie a few times, but happens to be good at his job, so we'll see. He irritates the hens, has plucked feathers from Andre's neck and has bit me, but is a great protector! He's in rooster reform, so we'll see. He's a beautiful delaware roo for being hatchery stock!

Temporaily named Jimi (Hendrix) thanks to BYC members who helped me name him. He's a salmon Faverolle and small. He likes to try to get the Jersey Giant hens, who are bigger than him. It's funny! The second pic is with a 5.5 month old Buckeye pullet. (The first one is a few weeks ago, hence the shorter tail and saddle feathers).

And he isn't done growing out those tail feathers either! He is a great roo as far as a protector goes (he growled at sparrows that flew over head

) and he is gorgeous! But, boy does he like to test my patience! We've been using Gritsar's Rooster Reform (on her BYC member page). He's getting better.

Oh my. They are all beautiful, but Rotis is my favorite. I had 3 big Delaware roosters, and now I have one 11 month old guy,1 4 Month old, and 1 2 month old. I love each one of them, though they all test my patience as well.

I dont have a pic of my youngest, I'll get one soon I hope. Heffner is Oreo's father, and Moose and my youngest rooster have the same father as well.

Thank you

He is the father of about 60 something birds, and he went from 8 delaware girls to his original 8, plus 5 mixed, plus 9 dellie pullets, 1 mixed pullet, 1 br pullet, 3 RIR pullets, 4 rsl pullets, and 1 bsl pullet. *breathes hard* yeah, thats all, lol.
