pics of my Splash Cochin Pair and my Silver Pheasants...

Whoa! If they are that young, then they still have alot of maturing to do!

They will look much better around the 1 year stage. Just wait to see how they fill out. You have to remember, too, that cochins are very slow-maturing!

So, there is still a chance for the pullet to get a more rounded tail? What's going on with the roo's comb? Too many points on the comb??

The are very nice birds.

The roo does have too many points on his comb. Generally I think the comb should be a little "tighter" (closer to the head). Their foot feathering looks nice though. And they both could use a little more "fluff".

All in all though they are very cute.

What are the birds on the other side of the wire?

I don't like breeding slash-to-splash because of diluting problems.
Other than that, they need type impovement, and a better comb.

My hen (note how diluted she is cause of splash-to-splash breeding)

I personally like the type of the female better than the male, even though neither are perfect. They are a good start, I would just trying to work on their type now.

Yes, there is a good chance that the females cushion should get more full.

Yes, the roo has too many points - and I cant see the female.

They are still very young...will look much different by the age of 2...

Any pointers as to what I can do to work on type for my cochins?
