How does one "rescue" a chick that cute and that young? I want to know more about this rescue. It wouldn't be more truthfully known as "chicken math" would it???

I am guilty of chicken math but not in this case. This chick was dumped at a local high school in a small plastic rodent cage. It was pretty sad. I wasn't even going to add to the flock this year - lol.... but since my nephew found it & brought it to me that kinda opened the door just a little. I was good & only got 2 more chicks to go with the little rescue so only increased my flock by 3. Chicks are not solo creatures
In my area the feed stores will let anyone purchase chicks - as few or as many as you want. There have been a few abandoned but because they are so young they usually don't make it once they are found. This one got lucky.
