Thanks! I could be wrong too LOL does he have any rust or anything on the wings, saddle, or hackles? You have Many many more points than I, way more, so you could be right.
The grey one has no other coloring, just shades of grey. Thanks! I could be wrong too LOL does he have any rust or anything on the wings, saddle, or hackles?
Hmmm interesting. A lot of BSLs have red leakage. But not all. He could still be one.The grey one has no other coloring, just shades of grey.
If he has single barring, he is probably a BSL. If he has double-barring (more spacing between the black bars), he could be a Barred Rock (the males would carry double barring). I'm guessing that you are correct in your guess that he is a BSL cockerel that snuck through the first gauntlet at the hatchery.I don't think so as he would need to have both parents BR to be pure and then have pure BR chicks. This BSL cockerel probably only has 1 BR or barred parent. I'm guessing this as I'm still learning the genetics.
We have this one, who I think is a cockerel. He "could" be from a BR hen and solid roo or a Barred roo (not BR) and who knows what hen.If he has single barring, he is probably a BSL. Yes, for sure.We have this one, who I think is a cockerel. He "could" be from a BR hen and solid roo or a Barred roo (not BR) and who knows what hen.
First pic is 4.5 wks, second is 7.5 wks, third is 11.5 wks. Would you say it's a cockerel?
