Pics of our Chicken/Duck coop!

Thanks everyone! We have been really happy with this design. This was my hubby's first attempt at building any kind of outdoor "shelter" & I think he did very well with it too! The BYC member had posted many detailed pics & helpful tips! Gotta look him up & show him what he inspired us to do for our chickens!

Here are a few more pics taken this past week with some winter retro-fitting! Posts on winter heating makes me more at ease after hearing from others on not having to heat our coop. Will defiently save on electric bill! lol!

Thanks again everyone and glad to find you guys. My chickens thank you as well.

Kuntyrgirl, We have 4 chickens and 2 ducks. They are all the same age, 8 months, & have grown up all together.

WOW -- I need to find a school that will send my kids home with chicks! That would get my husband moving with the coop! LOL! I thought home schoolers had all the fun!

BTW, it looks like your design is the one that I am looking to build too... if you look in my personal page you will find the link to person I got my idea from and then he has a link to the guy he got his from... between those you might be able to find the person you are looking for.

looks nice! but you may want to expand it because of the size and how many birds you want to put in a flock. but a great coop and an idea form expanidng are the chainlink dog runs!

Thanks Titus2women! Your link on your page came up as an error for me...

But on the BYC website right now under the chicken "new posts" forum, the stained chicken coop with green trim is the exact design we used and is the member we need to thank!

I think t was called the Wichita Coop??!!

@ Jacobkelly15: Thank you for the advice on the ducks. I wondered if we needed to put something out in the coop for them to get in the water. Durring the summer, I would put them in a dog kennel with access to a water trough... They LOVED it! But I was afraid with winter that they would get too cold and they make such a mess... with everything. lol! (Not the brightest either. I think the chickens are smarter than the ducks! Just my personal observation.

As for size of coop, we are not adding anymore birds to our small flock. This is it!
