Pics of our homemade incubator and a question

LOL , they are actually fish tank thermometers, I wouldn't know what a candy thermometer looks like, I'm one of those "cooking anything challenged" but I can wire just about anything:D

lol see what i am talking about

very cool!

Have you had luck hatching from homemade incubators?

I am seeing threads and articles about how difficult it seem to hatch silky eggs in top notch bators...I just worry that my 8 silky eggs don't have a chance in the homemade one...

I candled and so far probably 4 of them are obviously doing well (day...4 only)...

Well, this is my first hatch... But the person I got the schematics from and stuff hatched successful chickens from his.. I am on day 12 and I think I saw one move ^_^ but it could still be a few days before Iknow anything... I can't candle them... They are too dark, button quail eggs.. Thinking of doing a float test in a couple days if I see nothing new. I hear a lot of good things about home made bators. My tiny styrofoam one worked insanely well!!! But when we got to 6 eggs I needed an upgrade.

Well that is good to hear

I put them in the HM-incubator on June 14th, and last night I could see about 4 of them moving around...very cool to watch...I just hope everything goes well the last 3 days...

*fingers crossed*

99.5-101 temp
45% humidity...

The waiting is a killer

IKR!!! Its driving me nuts!!! I have posted a billion threads on here trying to find someone to help ease my nerves.. I think ppl at tired of my posting haha.. Idk what you are hatching, but is 45% low or good for your type? For mine 55-65% is good.. I have it raised to 78% atm since it is close to hatch day for at least 3 of them
