When halter training cows I think the best thing to know is to not sit there and fight them. You have to pull on the lead to the point where it is uncomfortable for them but don't try to pull their whole body because you won't be able to. They're too strong. So once you make them uncomfortable the second they move forward release the pressure. This will teach them what the whole idea is. The reason it's hard is because they don't know what the pressure means. so you have to teach them with re inforcement. Then once they get that idea you can start to actually walk them.
