Mahonri, since you're a dentist, have you ever really looked at a hens mouth to see if any of them have teeth? I hear they're pretty scarce...

That leghorn can lay eggs?! It looks absolutely skinny! I'm not saying you don't feed it or anything, I'm just saying it's small! Hard to believe they're one of the best layers.

Tomorrow morning it will be swept and mopped very clean and I'm even going to try and remove some of the dust.

I wipe down all of the roosts too.

A clean coop makes for a happy chicken farmer.... and because we do it every week it doesn't take that long. I use dishwasher dish soap as it seems to really clean up any of the stubborn spots on the linoleum.

This week we will be spreading the droppings on the garden and then raking them into the dirt. (Usually we bury them) 2nd week of January I'll be planting peas, beans, squash and tomato starts.
