Judging from the pictures little man

looks like a Silver Magpie and his twin looks like a black which is very odd being from the same egg???, would of thought blue and black or black and black but not that combination! This makes it even more interesting! Keep me informed on the color!!! From the looks of him right now it looks like you may have a show bird on your hands

Spirit is really something!!!

Even though they are from the same egg, they might have different fathers, right?

I dont know they should of been fertilized by the same duck at the same time, but if they werent separated then it is possible!

OMG!

I'm glad o see Spirit is doing well and is healthy enough to swim around!

I noticed Spirit is the only one you named - do you normally not name your ducks? You should at least name his twin! Mind or Body would pair nicely with Spirit

So cute! So forgive me if it is obvious to all but me

but which bigger duck is his twin? I can find the smallest duck

but which one is the twin. I thought it would have been the other light grey colored one.

Great to see if doing so good!!

Spirit is now up to 27 grams. He's gaining weight so slowly. His brother is now 68 grams. Tonight we hard boiled a bunch of eggs and I mashed some up for him to eat. He wouldn't touch it until I added a little of his regular food with it. He ate a small amount. He seems healthy enough but I'm worried because he's just so darn tiny.

I put his brother in with him but then all his brother did was cry for the other ducklings. So against my better judgement I put them both in the brooder with all the ducklings. I have their brooder in the living room, on my desk, right next to where I sit. I keep an eagle eye on him constantly. He seems happy, no crying, and he sleeps on top of the pack. The main thing is that he no longer wants to hang out with me. He wants to be a duck and I think thats important.

I've raised parrots for almost 30 years and that's always a good sign in parrots.

I still have to grind his food because the regular food is just too large for his tiny mouth. I don't have to grind it as fine as I was, though. The bigger ducklings leave his food alone, they're more interested in their bigger food.

I've seen no picking on him from the other ducklings at all. The last clutch of Call ducklings I hatched, all the other ducklings picked on the white and I had to remove him from them. They literally attacked him biting off his wing tips and pulled out blood feathers so I'm even more observant with Spirit.

I also named his twin brother. His name is Angeni which means spirit in Cherokee. So together they are one in Spirit. I'm working on names for the others.
