Pic's of the moon Thinking of Entering them in a photo contest????

Thanks ya'll! Guess I'm too modest.. My mom kept sayin I should enter them, and I kept blowin her off saying.. Nah I'm sure there's better picks than those..My Husband had a fit also..Guess I should try and enter them. Does anyone know of a good contest on the internet thats not a hoax?? I' may start with something like that.

They are pretty, the first thing I notice when i look at them is a common mistake with amateurs--putting everything in the center!

You could feasibly crop the pic so the moon isn't in the center, but it's something to think about the next time you are shooting.

When things are in the rule or thirds (search the term on the web for info) it makes it more interesting and visually pleasing.

They are good pics, but make sure it's not a professional photographer contest... I really mean no offense, but take it from someone who knows when I first started photography years ago I was "picked" on by the professionals, my pictures were amazing to me but apparently not to the pros

I felt horrid and I would hate for anyone to feel like I did, after a ton and ton of practice I showed them! The D40 is a great camera, what lenses do you have? I always shoot moon shots with a Canon 75-300mm or the Canon 7034A002 400mm, amazing lenses!!! The 75-300 is more user friendly lens, they also make these for Nikons though a bit different... Make sure you have a medium ISO and a tripod, this will prevent blur. Good luck with you photography, you are off to a great start!!!
