And why shouldn't it work? Goldens are notorious for being pack protectors. Anything, or anyone they consider to be part of the pack, they're sure going to do their very best to protect it/them. All you had to do is make Perry understand that Laverne is a part of the family/pack. Goldens are smart and sensitive! I bet it didn't take long at all to get Perry to understand, did it?

Great pic by the way! Just think, if Laverne had been a buff, you wouldn't be able to tell where Perry ended and Laverne began!!

Thanks everyone! Yes quite a sight it was. It sort of freaked me out at first, but then I realized he was liking it. And she was asleep LOL! He isn't even allowed in the kitchen, so he broke the rules just to get to her. And he was NOT happy when I took her away and he had to leave the kitchen. Goldens are beautiful dogs!!! And Silkies are amazing too. I guess I really shouldn't have wondered if it would work, in hindsight that is! We have a golden pup too (Gus age 7 months) and he likes the girls (Laverne and Shirley, our new silkies) a little too much. He gets way too excited and i worry he will accidentally squash them. But Laverne goes to him anyway so i guess they have worked things out.
