Picture of nest box

Cozy.

Looks almost like the lady's dressing room in a clothing store.

Looks like Fort Chix Nuclear Fall-out Shelter! They're probably afraid to enter. Two chicks enter, one chick leave!

Those are the exterior "egg retrieving" and "flip-up to clean" doors.
They have a regular bird sized hole-entrance from the inside of the coop

We made it hang out so we didn't have to go in to get eggs, but I am going in the coop to get the egg every day anyway.

Here you can see how it hangs in the porch, outside of their coop area.

My chickens did the same thing, laid their eggs on the floor. I put those colored easter eggs in the laying boxes and they started using theme.

I have 1 golf ball and 1 white plastic egg in there, been there a week.
After reading your post italian chicken, I added 2 more orange plastic eggs.
Here's to hoping!

From inside the coop on the chicken's side....

From the other side...but still inside the coop. The chickens can't go on this side.

I made the doors open to the side so my little girl can reach in and get the eggs. She is only 2 1/2 and could not reach over the door if it folded down. And because they are low, I didn't want the doors to fold up, So to the side was the answer!!!
