I just found these and felt like sharing them... Most of my old Muscovies were killed by a predator a couple winters ago

LuLu - I had to put her in a laundry basket every morniing to defrost her because she refused to sleep in her house.

What exactly is a mule?

If a moscovy breeds with a mallard derived breed, the offspring will be sterile. That's why the term Mule is used. It's like breeding a horse to a donkey. The mule offspring is sterile.

The reason for the sterility is that muscovies are A DIFFERENT SPECIES from other ducks.

what were they attacked by? It seems like there is a lot of water there that they could have gotten away... were they not able to get to their water?
