May I suggest a llarge metal dustpan with sturdy handle? I got one at home depot in the mops/broom/cleaning section. I just scrape up litter and anything stuck to the floor with the front of the dustpan, empty it into a tall trash can and remove. I can clean a 4 x 8 coop in about 15 minutes with this thing. Best tool I ever bought.

Are your cochins standard size or bantams. They look so cuddly. Do you find that they like to cuddle on your lap? Mine do although I may not have treats. Even the roos.
