Buff orp, I put my hand in the bator to move it to the brooder and it ran right in. Seems to like it in the brooder better than the bator. Is drinking a bit but doesn't seem to want food. It sure likes the screw head that holds the heat lamp. Keeps pecking at it. What a great thrill. John

How many eggs did you have in your bater? I only had one lone survivor as well. One hatched on its own, I had to help the other, and it died four days later

14 to start with. All fertile but died in the process. Temps and humidity held good. I don't have an answer on what happened. I wish I knew. I would like to try again with more success. John

Contratulations on the chick! Maybe find it a feather duster or stuffed animal for company.

What a little cutie. Sad the others didn't hatch. But what a survivor this one must be if it defied the odds that killed the rest. Make it your personal pet.
