Here are the chicks that Dixie hatched out about 3 weeks ago.

We have names for a couple of the chicks. All of the photos are from a few minutes ago.

I am hoping this one is a girl. Don't most EE hens have the chipmunk pattern. If this one is a girl then I will name her Maggie.

I know that this Barred EE is a boy because he already has a niced sized comb. But I convinced my dad to keep him.

His name is Tucker.

Yeah, George's dad gets a bit brassy just before his molt, but he's looking great right now. They are such calm, sweet tempered roosters, though, aren't they?

Yes, the roosters are friendlier and calmer than the women. I could let Dusty and Smoky go, but Suede has to stay with me forever. He's three years old now, the big lug. Good boy, my Suede.

He's with a new group of Black Australorps I brought in late last year after he grew up and I knew what I wanted to do with him. I hope to get lots of new blue babies from him this spring!!!
