I'm just wondering how long does it take for the colour to ware off? All of those ducklings are cute.

Wifezilla, i LOVE your ducks!

Awwww! You are too kind! I am just glad people like hearing about them since I was such a total spazz. I am sure the duck veterans find me very amusing

And JJ is such a character. It is just the way she looks at me and tries to "talk" to me. She is very happy go lucky and curious. Bungie is reserved compared to her. The new duck is adorable too, but JJ just has so much personality. (I have to be careful not to spoil her more than the other ducks

)

Michelle, your brooder set up is too cool. Maybe I should put some grass in Uno's brooder. Hummmm​

Thank you Wifezilla!! They just love that grass and the dirt My husband thought I was nuts buying ducks, then he was sure I was nuts when he saw me dragging the rubber tub across the yard but once it was all set up he pulled up a lawn chair and watched the babies playing for the longest time. He's itching for the day he can take them to our big pond but I told him it'll be a couple of months at least before I want to take them to it. The real pond is about 250 feet from our house and I'm not ready for them to be that far from me LOL

BantamLover, I honestly don't know about the dye, they get a couple of swims a day and shake a lot of colored water off of them and they're still quite colorful. The outer tips of their down have a yellow tinge to them at this point.

I'm loving all of these duck photos!!!!

Here's Spunky, the first (and only) duckling I ever hatched. He got sick before he even made it out of the brooder, and I just couldn't save him. I'm pretty sure it came from the feed store ducks I had with him, since one died before and another after him

Anyways, I was the first thing he saw when I peeked in the bator, so he thought I was his momma. My mom let me keep him in a homemade brooder in the livng room, and the little guy loved to snuggle on my shoulder and nibble at my hair and my ears. That little duck would run across the floor just to climb up my shirt and find a spot to sit under my ear

I'm hoping to have another duck like him sometime.

Mom was a Rouen, dad was a Khaki Campbell.

Here are some from last spring, My Momma duck is setting on a clutch as I type the are due May 12th! Haven't been able to get in there to count how many this time, but soon I will, as I will candle at the same time!
There were 22 in this clutch!
