Title says it all... what breed(s) has the curly feathers on its back? I saw some at a poultry show years ago and don't know what the name of it was. The feathers on the rest of its body were normal.

I wonder if it's some kind of aberrant mutation because it must be hard to fly with curly feathers on your back. Would really love to see a picture if anyone has them.

The curly feathers were small. It is hard to explain, which is probably why I have had no luck finding out what they are. There were 2 or 3 of them at the show.

Those are kinda spiffy. They look like they got a perm, lol.

Do you know if they can fly because they don't look aerodynamically sound, lol. When you are that pretty maybe you can get away with just strutting.

Yes they can fly... but not as well as normal pigeons. You can't race them

I have a pair of Frillbacks. Cock is white, hen is grizzle.
Not great breeders unless you trim feathers around the vent, and with such short beaks, I usually pass their eggs to a foster parent.
