PIGEON INCUBATION

Well I would guess if she will stay there long enough and produce enough body heat to keep the egg warm enough. How big is your pigeon?

I don't know how to explain this, so bear with me.

Pigeons are just... different. They live private lives and plan their own brooding and rearing schedule. If an egg is placed in their nest, they will not sit on it. I've tried with a bantam egg and they kicked it out of the nest and laid their own eggs. Sorry.

I had never thought of putting chicken eggs under a pigeon and probably never would but now i know you can't
Thanks Green Family Farm.

Just a thought, but, you might can try this and see how it works. Heck, I may try and see what happens!

Wait until they start sitting on the egg(s). When they get off the nest to eat/drink, swap the eggs! Bantam eggs are about the same size and color as the pigeon eggs so this may work.

I didn't mean to be a discourager, but pigeons are just plain picky. I read somewhere that they have the intelligence of a 5 year old, but I don't know the truth of that.

Good luck!

ETA: Pigeon eggs take about 18 days to hatch vs. 21 days for a chicken. Close!
