Wire is good for cleanliness, but if they don't have access to solid ground or floor somewhere, their nails don't get worn down. I know someone who used to have that and he had to do a lot of nail trimming on his birds. I have tried various beddings and coverings over the years and now I only keep bare wood floors, and scrape and sweep with a broom (and use a shop vac every so often). Everybody has their own preferences, so over the years expect to end up trying different methods until you find what works best for you.
