pigeon, sorry

Hi hope all r well. Im sorry this isnt about chickens i have an injured adult pigeon in a box upstairs. His wings r fine, he hasnt been attacked, at least not by a predator with claws(or teeth really) his bodys ok but he's not moved either leg and has no response reflex in legs or talons. Cld this b from shock? A friend said he's mayb still in shock but it's been just over 24hrs now. Iv called vet but they said theyd destroy if didnt think he cld make it. Any help anyone plz? Do they lose function of legs n will he get them back? Thanku :'-(
All you can do is comfort the pigeon. Place so he is laying upright, maybe use a soft pillow to position. Offer clean water to drink. I don't suggest any additives, like electrolytes, or ACV, since you do not know what is wrong. Water needs to be in a somewhat deep dish, (2 inch is sufficient) because pigeons drink differently than chickens. If pigeon is drinking, and alert, you can offer some bread crumbs to see if he will eat. That is not the food to feed a pigeon, but it will show you if he will eat, or not. If he does eat it, then offer bird seed to him.
Post a picture and an update if you can. :hugs Hoping for a recovery for him. Once the improvements are visible in recovery, we can further advise you on next steps.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

Great job helping him! Here is the advice have, though I'm not an expert.

My best guess is he had flown into an object, perhaps running from a predoter, and caused himself brain damage. if that's the case, it doesn't look good. :(

Possibly a severe case of worms, but that is unusual in wild pigeons. How old does he look? Possibly Young Bird sickness. It is very hard to say what it is without seeing and holding the bird in person. But for now, keep him hydrated, even if that's forcing beak in the water by force. And offer small grains or bread, as that is easy for them to digest. If you see no improvement in a couple of days, it may be best to end his suffering. :(

I hope this helps!
